Globalbit built Israel's #1 trading app for IBI Investment House, assembled the development team, and then transferred full ownership to IBI — a turnkey product + team delivery model.

[ THE CHALLENGE ]

A 50-Year-Old Investment House With No Mobile Team

IBI has been in the investment business since 1971. They know finance. But when the rest of the world moved to mobile, stock trading in Israel was still happening on desktop terminals and phone calls. IBI had no app developers, no mobile product manager, no release process. They needed someone to build the product and then build them the team to own it.

  • -First mobile trading app wins the market — Israeli investors were still calling brokers or sitting at desktops. No one had a mobile trading app. IBI knew the first serious player to ship one would own the category. The window was closing.
  • -Younger investors had no way in — People in their twenties and thirties manage everything from their phones — except stock trading. IBI's customer base was aging, and the next generation of investors was going somewhere else.
  • -No mobile team, no mobile process — IBI knows finance inside out, but they had zero mobile development capacity. No app developers, no mobile product managers, no release pipeline. They needed the product and the team to run it.
  • -Two countries' securities laws, one app — IBI Smart trades on both the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange and US markets. That means dual-country KYC, transaction monitoring, audit trails, and data residency rules. When real money is on the line, there's no room for compliance shortcuts.

Ship First, Transfer Second

Globalbit built IBI Smart from scratch with a dedicated team: PM, analysts, iOS and Android developers, QA engineers, and compliance experts. We shipped the MVP in six months, then kept iterating for two years. AI personalization, advanced charting, new asset classes - every release driven by real user behavior.

Once the app hit 500,000 users, we spent three months transferring the operation to IBI. We moved part of our own team over, helped IBI train their developers, and handed over the PM processes that got the product to where it was.
